Sea World San Diego: Shamu and More!

Sea World San Diego: Making the Most Out of Your Day

When visiting Sea World San Diego, don’t you just hate it when you want to watch the Shamu show, but you end up running out of seats and getting your schedule all messed-up? Have you ever accidentally sat on one of the wet zone benches only to end up getting your digital camera or cellular phone drenched?

Now is the time to put the past behind you, and make sure your next day in Sea World is hassle-free fun. Just take a look at a few short do’s and don’ts when visiting the park:

•    DO bring an extra set of clothes, especially if you plan to enjoy the wet rides like the Journey to Atlantis or get wet during shows. If you want the thrill of being in the wet zone, but do not want to get drenched, buy or bring a poncho.

•    DON’T waste your money buying ponchos if you plan to sit at the back. There’s absolutely no chance the water will reach you there.

•    DO take a good look at the map and the show schedules at the back of it, so you can plan your day ahead of time. An estimated wait time is shown at the entrance of every ride, so take note of these as well.

•    DON’T go to a show right before it starts. You must be seated in the show auditorium at least 20 minutes before it begins, or else you will run out of seats (even wet zone seats), and will have to wait for the next show time.

•    DO take care of your belonging, especially electronics, as they have a good chance of getting wet. If you are going on one of the theme park rides, it is a good idea to leave your electronics with a friend who isn’t riding, or leaving it in one of the locker facilities.

•    DON’T spend too much money buying souvenirs as the costs will burn holes in your wallets. Instead, try to take as much pictures of yourselves, the members of your party, and the park rides and shows (if you are seated behind the wet zone).

•    DO try to visit all the animal encounter exhibits in between shows. Most visitors miss out on these rare chances to meet sharks, penguins, polar bears, and other sea animals up-close.

•    And lastly, DO keep an eye out for special events that could be happening during the day or during the night of your visit. It would be a good idea to check the park’s official website ahead of time, so you can schedule your visit on a day when special events are happening. Also, be on the lookout for Sea World discounts and coupons, to save money on your next visit.

Enjoy, because with these do’s and don’ts in mind I’m sure you’ll make the most out of your day in Sea World San Diego.
